1. Before First Wear
- Gently detangle with a wide-tooth comb or your fingers, starting from the tips and working up to the roots.
- Co-wash (conditioner-only wash) if desired to refresh the unit before installation.
- Use a wig cap that matches your skin tone for the most natural finish under lace units.
- For HD lace frontals and closures, we recommend professional installation for the best melt.
2. Installation Guidelines
- Prep your scalp: cleanse, moisturise and lay your edges or braids flat before installing.
- If using adhesive, apply thin, even layers and allow each layer to become tacky before placing the lace.
- Use a melt band or scarf for 10–15 minutes after installation to set the lace seamlessly.
- Avoid excessive glue — buildup damages the lace and shortens the unit's lifespan.
- Glueless? Use the adjustable straps and combs, plus a wig grip band for all-day security.
3. Washing & Conditioning
- Wash every 2–3 weeks, or after 10–15 wears (more often if you use heavy products).
- Use sulfate-free, alcohol-free shampoo and a moisturising conditioner.
- Wash in lukewarm or cool water, stroking downwards from roots to tips — never rub or scrub.
- Condition mid-lengths to ends; avoid the lace and knots to prevent shedding.
4. Detangling & Drying
- Always detangle before washing and before sleeping.
- Use a wide-tooth comb or fingers; start at the tips and work upwards gently.
- Pat dry with a microfiber towel — never wring or twist the hair.
- Air-dry on a wig stand. If blow-drying, use low heat with a heat protectant.
5. Heat & Styling
- Always apply a heat protectant spray before using hot tools.
- Keep flat irons and curling wands below 180°C (356°F) on human hair.
- Limit heat on curly and wavy textures — excessive straightening can loosen the natural pattern permanently.
- Refresh curls between washes with a water-based leave-in spray, scrunching gently.
6. Sleeping & Swimming
- Wrap your hair in a satin bonnet or scarf every night — or sleep on a satin pillowcase.
- Where possible, remove lace units before sleeping to protect the lace and your edges.
- Avoid chlorine and salt water. If you must swim, wear a swim cap and rinse the unit immediately afterwards.
7. Storage
- Store on a wig stand or mannequin head to preserve shape and prevent tangles.
- Keep in a satin bag or box, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and dust.
- Never store a unit while damp — always fully dry first to prevent mildew.
8. What to Avoid
- Alcohol-based products near the lace (they dry and brittle it).
- Brushing curly textures when dry (causes frizz and shedding).
- Heavy oils and grease on the lace area (causes buildup and slippage).
- DIY repairs on lace tears — bring the unit to us instead.
